Childress Painting
Why Childress

What a General Contractor Is Actually Buying.

Not paint. A subcontractor who shows up, raises problems early, coordinates with the trades around them, and hands over a short punch list. Price is how bids are compared; this is how they are remembered.

Why General Contractors Choose Childress

Eight Things Superintendents Tell Us Matter.

Collected from four decades of debriefs. None of them are about the coating, which is exactly the point.

Reliable Scheduling

We show up when the schedule says we will. When something upstream moves us, the superintendent hears it from us before it becomes a delay.

Daily Jobsite Communication

Progress, manpower, and obstacles reported daily. No superintendent should have to walk the building to find out whether the paint crew showed up.

Responsive Project Management

A dedicated project manager from preconstruction through closeout, one point of contact who knows the job and answers the phone.

Quality Control Inspections

We inspect our own work before the GC walkthrough. Coverage, sheen, cut lines, and adjacent surfaces corrected before anyone is asked to look.

Clean & Organized Job Sites

We leave a site cleaner than other trades expect from a paint crew. Floors protected, material staged, corridors and exits clear.

Fast Punch List Completion

Because our own walk happened first, the list is short. Items are closed on a committed turnaround rather than trailing the other trades.

Coordination With Other Trades

We coordinate directly with drywall, flooring, and finish carpentry, fewer conversations routed through the superintendent, fewer conflicts on the floor.

Warranty Support After Closeout

A written one-year workmanship warranty, backed by Sherwin-Williams coating systems. A call after closeout gets a real response.

How We Operate

Positions We Hold Even When They Cost Us.

Occasionally these lose us a job on price. We hold them because the alternative costs the client more two years later.

01

Construction Discipline First

Commercial construction is where our habits were formed, prevailing wage, multi-trade sequencing, and what a superintendent actually needs from a subcontractor. Every project we touch, commercial or residential, inherits that discipline.

02

Say It Early

A problem raised in week two is a scheduling conversation. The same problem raised at the punch walk is a delay claim. We would rather deliver bad news early than manage a surprise late.

03

Preparation Over Product

Most coating failures are preparation failures. We price preparation as its own line so it stays visible, and we say when a substrate is not ready instead of coating over it.

04

Inspect Our Own Work First

The quality-control walk happens before the general contractor's, not after. That is the difference between a short punch list and a long one.

A Written One-Year Warranty.

Our workmanship warranty runs for two years from substantial completion, in addition to whatever the coating manufacturer provides on the material. It is issued in writing at closeout alongside attic stock and the approved color schedule, and a call after closeout gets the same response as a call during construction.
