Four Decades of Professional Painting.
Since 1984, one operating premise: make the superintendent's job easier. Show up when the schedule says we will, communicate problems before they become delays, and leave the site cleaner than a paint crew is expected to.

A Dependable Subcontractor,
by Design.
Childress Painting is a professional painting contractor based in Dallas, TX. We work for general contractors, developers, property groups, facility teams, and homeowners — with commercial construction as the core of the business.
That foundation matters more than it sounds. Habits formed on commercial jobsites, prevailing wage, submittals, multi-trade sequencing, and what a superintendent needs on a Tuesday morning, carry into every residential and industrial project we take on. The discipline does not switch off.
We coordinate directly with drywall, flooring, and finish-carpentry crews to sequence around live construction and occupied spaces. We run our own quality-control inspections ahead of the general contractor’s walkthrough. We staff every project with a dedicated project manager from preconstruction through closeout. The result is fewer punch list items, faster sign-off, and a Sherwin-Williams coating system backed by a one-year workmanship warranty.
Across four decades that work has covered national retail and restaurant rollouts, district-wide school programs, stadiums, surgery centers, industrial plants, airport terminals, and public safety facilities — 62 representative clients and 83 school campuses on the record.

“Built around the construction schedule.”
Since 1984

The Office Our Kansas City Crews Work From.
14000 Century Lane. Four decades of school, retail, restaurant, and stadium work across the metro has been run out of this building.
How the Record Was Built.
Not a marketing history, the actual arc of the work, from a family trade to a multi-sector painting contractor.
The Trade Begins
Childress Painting starts commercial work with a simple operating premise: make the superintendent's job easier. Show up on schedule, communicate problems before they become delays, and leave the site cleaner than a paint crew is expected to.
National Retail and Restaurant Work
The company builds a base in national chain retail and restaurant construction, prototype-standard finishes, hard opening dates, and multi-site rollouts where the same result has to be repeated store after store.
Institutional and District Programs
District-level school painting programs, healthcare facilities, municipal buildings, and stadium work broaden the portfolio into sectors where documentation, phasing, and inspection matter as much as the finish.
Dallas–Fort Worth and Beyond
Operating from Dallas as Childress Painting LLC. Texas is the primary market, with continued coverage in Kansas and Missouri from the Grandview office. Commercial construction remains the core of the business, with industrial and residential work held to the same standard.
Who You Will Actually Deal With.
A small leadership team means the person who prices your job is reachable during it. No account layer between the estimator and the field.
Rody Diyoka
Business Development & Preconstruction
Handles takeoff, scope review, product verification, and bid coordination with general contractors and owners.
Joey Battisto
Operations & Project Management
Owns the schedule and the superintendent relationship: sequencing, manpower commitments, and punch closeout.
Cole Childress
Field Operations
Runs crews in the field, manpower loading, daily production, and the standard of finish that leaves the site.
Four Things We Will Not Trade Away.
These are the positions that occasionally cost us a job. We hold them anyway, because the alternative costs the client more later.
Construction Discipline First
Commercial construction is where our habits were formed, prevailing wage, multi-trade sequencing, and what a superintendent actually needs from a subcontractor. Every project we touch, commercial or residential, inherits that discipline.
Say It Early
A problem raised in week two is a scheduling conversation. The same problem raised at the punch walk is a delay claim. We would rather deliver bad news early than manage a surprise late.
Preparation Over Product
Most coating failures are preparation failures. We price preparation as its own line so it stays visible, and we say when a substrate is not ready instead of coating over it.
Inspect Our Own Work First
The quality-control walk happens before the general contractor's, not after. That is the difference between a short punch list and a long one.
